E.I.I

The Environmental Issue Investigation (E.I.I.) process has been developed by the Outdoor School team based upon educational research.

It includes four steps. Students begin by “asking a question” about a current environmental topic. The students then “collect data” to “answer the question”. Finally, students determine how they can “take action” to positively impact their local environment. The hope is that students who leave Outdoor School will be positive environmental stewards for the future.

Classes

Instructional periods may consist of one of the following learning experiences:

Watershed, Habitat, Exploration, Environmental Impact, Confidence Course, Stream Ecology, Environmental Action Projects, Wildlife Simulation Game

Evening programs may consist of one of the following learning experiences:

Owl Prowl, Night Hikes, Astronomy, Planetarium, Bats, Campfires, Raptor Program

Below is a list of ideas for student service learning projects that may be used to earn 10 hours toward your Service Learning Graduation Requirement. These are only suggestions. We also encourage you to develop your own plan and project based upon your particular interest, expertise, parental involvement, location, and need.
